10 Day You Challenge: 5 Foods and 4 Books

Dear 10 day challenge – I did not forget about you! :) Here are some foods I LOVE to eat and books I LOVE to read! If you click on the pictures below, you will be linked to the website where I got the picture and it is linked with a BUNCH of recipes for that type of food or that specific recipe! Enjoy!

First up,

5 FOODS

1. Mexican Food – I can eat this food any day of the week! And it has a lot of healthy options! {Right?} :)

2. Italian Food – if I’m not eating Mexican food, the other days I’m making Italian! :)

3. Malawi Chicken – this one’s a personal favorite. It takes a little more time to make, but I like that it’s different and not something you can just order at a restaurant! PS: Bananas and chicken? Trust me – YES! :)
Here is a photo and a link to one version of Malawi Chicken. {PS – this girl is cooking her way around the world! That sounds like a great blog idea to me!!} I stumbled upon her blog and am looking forward to checking out more of her recipes! I don’t make my Malawi chicken with the mango, though after seeing this pic I might try! I cook my chicken with garlic and curry (To taste.) I’ll also sometimes chop in some fresh tomatoes. After the chicken is cooked I’ll chop up peanuts, bananas, add sour cream and mango chutney. I let people mix and add any of those on top of their chicken and we eat it over white rice. It is yummy!!! Let me know if you want the full recipe version!

4. Chocolate. Yes, his counts as a whole food category on its own! I don’t like candy and don’t eat a lot of sweets, but for chocolate, I make an exception! Click on the photo for a bunch of yummy chocolate recipes!

5. Potato Tacos – did you ever see the gourmet Food Truck show/contest on the Food Network? Well, the food trucks came to our town and I ordered some potato tacos from one of the trucks and I seriously can’t stop thinking about them! Since we got different trucks every week, I’ve only had them that ONE time! I need to find a place that makes them as good as that food truck, or find a really good recipe!! Maybe this one will come close!

4 BOOKS

This really needs its own post. If you remember that I’m an English teacher, my list of favorite books is about a mile long! SO, I put some of my favorites on this short list! After making one of those recipes above, pull up one of these good books!

1. How We Love Our Kids by Milan Yerkovich {A great parenting book!}

2. America the Book and EARTH the Book. Both by Jon Stewart {I like to laugh}

3. Design Sponge at Home by Grace Bonney – an inspiring book of home design! Seriously could not put it down! AND it looks pretty on your bookshelf!

4. Any book signed by the author! {I have a slow growing collection of signed books - see that cool Design Sponge Book book? Yep! Grace Bonney herself signed it for me! Yippee!!} xoxo

I hope you enjoyed this double list!! What are some of your favorite foods and books?
