Me? An award? Really? Yippee! Thank you so much to Jileen at the overhaul AND Melanie from bear rabbit bear for the nomination! I’m a new blogger – my first post was only about 4 months ago, but I am loving every single minute of it! And what I love the most is connecting with all YOU creative gals out there! You inspire me every day! So, thank you Jileen {who surprised me with this award Tuesday} and Melanie {who surprised me with this same award Wednesday!} Woo hoo! I'm thrilled to win the Versatile Blogger award! How fun! I first met Jileen through one of her sweet comments on my blog and now I LOVE Jileen at the overhaul because she gets to live here:
That’s Scotland by the way. Can you imagine having that view EVERY DAY! I would LOVE to visit there someday – especially when I see pictures like this!
And pics like her little guy…{What a cutie!}
And she can garden like nobody’s business.
{I WISH I had a green thumb!} I feel sorry for any plant that happens across my threshold. It is doomed. Jileen also just redid her front door and it makes me want to visit her house for a cup of tea!
Thanks again for the nomination Jileen!!
I also have to thank Melanie at bear rabbit bear! I first met Melanie through her link party “Crafts for Under Twenty Somethings.” Isn’t that a cute idea for a link party? Then, I read through her blog and found even more cuteness!!
Like these yummy looking Kool-aid icing cupcakes:
and this play milk jug she made for her daughter’s play kitchen:
by the way, her husband MADE this kitchen for their daughter. Can you say AWESOME?
Thanks again ladies for The Versatile Blogger Award! In the words of Ms. Jileen…
With much
After accepting the Versatile Blogger Award, the blogger must
- Thank the person who gave the award and link back to them in your post. (Done!)
- Share 7 things about yourself. (On it)
- Pass this award along to 10 recently discovered blogs.
#1 - I played piano for about 10 years and specialized in Music in college. I took classes that included an African drumming class, an Indonesian Gamelan class and a Finnish music class where I learned to play the Kantele! {Any Kantele players out there?... anyone?... Just me? okay...}
#2 - I'm allergic to cats. {Sorry cat lovers.} Only cats though – not dogs. Lucky me!
#3 - I am a PK. {aka: Pastor’s Kid.} My fondest memories are growing up in the church. I learned to love and hope in the Lord and I hope I am raising my boys to feel the same way! I hope everything I do, even crafting & blogging, reflects the influence of God in my life!
#4 - I am half Scottish and part Mexican-Indian (from the Yucutan Peninsula – think Mayan Indians.) Unfortunately, I did not inherit the tolerance for spicy food like my ancestors! And no Haggis for me either! ;-)
#5 - I hate teeth. The first time I sat and watched my kids get their teeth cleaned at the Dentist office I fainted. I've never watched since.
#6 - My favorite movies are Legally Blonde and Elf. They are the only 2 movies I can quote!
#7 I'm an English teacher now, but one of my first jobs was an assistant gymnastics coach {I was more on the dancing side of it than the gymnast side.} But my favorite class I got to coach was Adapted Gymnastics for kids with special needs. I had 3 students: 1 was blind, 1 was deaf and the other autistic. It was a great learning experience and by far the most amazing & rewarding class I have ever been a part of.
So, there you have it. Seven, maybe new, facts about little 'ol me. :) And now, to pass this award on to 10 other deserving blogs. Like Jileen, I am choosing blogs that are newer and smaller like me and also some blogs that I just think are AWESOME! Here you go ladies! Congrats and pass it on!
1. The Gunny Sack{One of my favorite sites with the sweetest owner and creative ideas!}
2. Poppies and Pinwheels {Her projects are as cute as her blog's name}
3. Gallamore West {A dear friend who does uh-MAZING parties, crafts and food fun with her boys! There's nothing this girl can't do!}
4. Little Brick House {Worth the look for her handmade camera and phone pouches!}
5. The Letter 4 {I love their printables and organization tabs the best - but their whole sited is full of inspiration!}
6. Ginger Snap Crafts {Full of tutorials, ideas, and currently a back to school link party!}
7. Keep Home Simple {She's living the simple life on a budget! But her ideas are worth a million bucks!}
8. Kitchen Fun With My 3 Sons {The MOST creative kid's food I've ever seen! EVER.}
9. Just Our Style {This girl crafts, cooks, and has an all around creative mind - and of course STYLE!}
10. Pressed Down, Shaken Together {Cute, cute, cute!! DIY crafts, food, kids, you name it!!}
11. A Pop of Pretty {I'm so glad I stumbled upon her blog! She seems like a fun mom and has a fun site!}
I don't even care that I cheated and nominated 11 instead of 10. They were worth it! So go check them out! :)
